Leading in a Changing Climate: Kaitiakitanga for Community Organisations
There's plenty of talk about the importance of "the community" engaging with climate change. However up till now there has been little if any resources or training for community groups and not-for-profits to address environmental sustainability and climate action.
This 90 minute workshop is for anyone involved in the community sector who wants to encourage their organisation in 'kaitiakitanga'. Silvia Purdie's approach is Treaty-based and values driven, looking to encourage and inspire rather than pile on compliance expectations.
Any organisation, big or small, no matter what their work, needs to begin identifying their climate change risks, looking after the natural world, and moving us towards a carbon zero society. 'Leading in a Changing Climate' will provide practical tools for those in leadership roles.
She will be joined by Professor Jonathan Boston, Director of the Institute for Governance and Policy Studies at Victoria University of Wellington, who has been at the head of thinking around climate change and governance for decades.
