Neighbourhood Support would like to invite members of the NT Climate Forum to attend Neighbourhood Resilience Planning workshops which will be hosted in various locations over the coming months. Places are limited and Neighbourhood Support volunteers will recieve first preference, however we would love to see some of the NTCF team at the workshops. With a focus on Resilient Communities, I believe it is important that we learn from and work in collaboration with organisations such as FENZ and Emergency Services in order to understand their roles during an emergency and what we can do at a neighbourhood/community/whanau level to become better prepared for future climate related disasters. I also believe that it is important that we learn how to work together during times of crisis, and prepare ourselves to care and support each other during adversity.
These will be evening workshops starting at 7pm which will cover how to support your Group to develop a plan:
- The role of different emergency services
- What to consider in different emergency situations: fire; earthquake etc
- What the risks are and how to minimise them
- Collecting information about neighbourhood skills, resources and needs
These workshops will run during Covid-19 Levels 1 or 2. Because of this, places are limited so they will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are interested please register with us, either by completing this form or emailing Vicki on email@example.com.
