Nelson Seed Library Event
SEED GUARDIAN WORKSHOP - Food crops for resilience
Saturday 28th November 2020
1-3.30pm Elmer Turner Library
Do you have an interest in growing peas, leafy greens, tomatoes, corn, pumpkin or beans with the aim to save seeds to share at the Nelson Seed Library?
Join seed saver beginners and those with experience to gather, share and learn through the active process of saving seeds of food crops.
Share ideas, challenges and successes over the coming growing season.
Topics to be covered will include:
- Basic botany for seed saving
- Soil fertility
- Growing Structures
- Challenges and Solutions
- Record Keeping
We are all at different stages of learning how to grow food from seed and how to save seeds successfully. The Seed Guardian Groups are a friendly and supportive way to build and share your knowledge. Nelson Seed Library depends on dedicated seed savers to be able to replenish the seed stocks for others to share and grow.
Gather, share and learn how to support the Nelson Seed Library and your community.
