We had such a good time in November we want to do it again and perhaps make it a monthly event.
Join us in making a small stitch of action to help end the climate emergency by looking after what we have. Promote the repair of our clothes as a means to reduce consumption of energy and other resources.

Street Mending - Positive Action Event
Join the street mending event, sit and mend together on Trafalgar Street, meeting at Bank Lane
on Friday 10th of December
11:30am to 12:30pm
Encouragement to enter into a contract with the things you purchase, look after and care for them and extend their useful life as long as possible.
We are wishing to persuade people of the benefits of mending rather than making them feel defensive about their purchasing habits.
Our aim is to demonstrate that repairing something broken gives our brains a bigger dopamine hit than purchasing something new.
What to bring?
If you love bright colours please wear them.
Anything that makes us look approachable, friendly and non-intimidating. And which allows us to stand out in photos.
Chair with Chair banner
Make a chair banner with ‘#stich it don’t ditch it’ and hang it from the back of your seat. This could be sewn, painted, hand written, cut from paper, stitched on a garment etc. – whatever you have time for and will enjoy making
Mending project – neat un-cluttered
Simple Mending kit, scissors, pins, sharp needle, blunt needle, fabric scraps
After the happening we will gather for a BYO Picnic on riverbank between Trafalgar & Collingwood Street, weather permitting.
