Have you had your say on the Nelson Plan and Tasman Environment Plan that are currently open for public consultation?

These plans guide our region’s management of the environment, including air, water, and land. The plans tackle issues such as housing growth, climate change, transport, biodiversity, natural hazards, freshwater, and the future of the Nelson CBD.

They are only reviewed every 10 years and climate change must be addressed in that time, so it’s important that we get it right now.

The Nelson Tasman Climate Forum is offering the public an easy way to give climate change feedback on the Whakamahere Whakatu - Nelson Plan that is currently open for consultation.

The plan is lengthy and technical, making it difficult to navigate. Some members from the Climate Forum have created an online survey to get an idea of what the community thinks of climate change ideas, both those in the plan and not yet in the plan.

The survey is open now and will close on December 5, and the survey results will be provided to both Nelson City Council and Tasman District Council.
